Chopt recently opened in the Marlton Square shopping center.

Fresh produce, flavorful bowls, and creamy, homemade dressings are all available at the new Chopt Creative Salad Co. This salad restaurant recently opened in the Marlton Square shopping center and has dine-in, takeout, as well as delivery options. Chopt also has the ability to provide catering services.
Chopt sells a variety of healthy salads with a thick layer of lettuce or warm bowls with either a grain or cauliflower rice base. This restaurant creates not only the classic salads and bowls, but also salads and bowls with a mexican, chinese, or mediterranean twist. The element that makes these bowls so unique is the wide variety of tasty dressings that go on top of the bowls. Alex Collazo, the manager at Chopt, explains how all of the dressings “come from [Chopt’s] warehouse and they get shipped to [Chopt] and then [employees] mix them here.” Chopt also sells to-go dressings in 12 ounce bottles. These bottles can be ordered on their website.

The Mediterranean Bowl is a warm bowl filled with either warm grains or cauliflower rice, warm roasted chicken, cucumber and tomato salad, local feta, Mama Lil’s spicy peppers, cabbage and cilantro blend, crispy chickpeas, topped with a Lemon Tahini dressing and a House Vinaigrette. The restaurant ensures the safety of their customers by finding ways to accommodate food allergies and dietary restrictions. Every salad and bowl is gluten free, and certain items are vegan. Collazo also explained how Chopt has “a book which has…all of [their] produce [and] all of [their] choppings” which customers can view to look for things pertaining to their allergies or the number of calories they will be consuming. This book is also available for the bowl assemblers to look at when asked a question by a customer about one of the bowls.
Chopt strongly believes in giving back to the community. They donate 10% of their sales earned from their featured menu item, the Chopt Gives Mexicali Vegan Salad, to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. This salad is full of roasted sweet potatoes, hearts of palm, grape tomatoes, black beans, tortilla chips, jalapeno peppers, romaine, spinach, and is mixed with a Mexican Goddess dressing. These donations help fund the Boys & Girls Clubs summer culinary and gardening programs to fight food insecurity.

The Palm Beach Salad is made with avocado, grape tomatoes, English cucumbers, hearts of palm, romaine, and a White Balsamic Vinaigrette. (Taylor Goodman (’25))

The three bowls I ordered were the Classic Cobb Salad, the Palm Beach Salad, and the Mediterranean Bowl. The Classic Cobb Salad contains grilled chicken, avocado, all-natural smoked bacon, cage free egg, blue cheese, grape tomatoes, romaine, and topped with a Buttermilk Ranch dressing. The Palm Beach Salad is made with avocado, grape tomatoes, English cucumbers, hearts of palm, romaine, and a White Balsamic Vinaigrette.
Chopt’s salads and bowls are filled with the freshest produce one can get. The salads begin with a thick bed of crunchy, green lettuce and the warm bowls have either a base of warm grains or cauliflower rice. The fresh tomatoes were my favorite, they burst in my mouth. What tied the bowls together for me were the tangy dressings. Chopt offers so many different kinds of dressing, it was hard to choose! Overall, my experience at Chopt was great all around from the quality of service to the tasty salads and bowls. Additionally, Chopt’s ongoing commitment to the community through their Boys & Girls Clubs of America donation program is a great example of businesses giving back to the community. I would definitely recommend trying Chopt’s creations and I will be back to try more items on Chopt’s menu.
