Some say that you have to go to the Netherlands to experience a symbol of deep love, rebirth and charity: a tulip. No doubt the Netherlands holds that legacy, but did you know there is a place just 30 minutes away from Cherry Hill that feels like a paradise of its own?
Dalton Farms, located in Swedesboro, is having its seventh Tri-State Tulip Festival this year—a whole field overflowing with thousands of tulips in every shade imaginable. Reds that symbolize passion, yellows that glow like sunlight, soft pinks and purples, which look untouchable. Tulips have long symbolized renewal and hope; blooming each spring is like a gentle reminder that new beginnings will still come.
You’ll feel like you are in one of those aesthetic movies, where time slows down and every frame feels intentional. Most importantly, within the environment, you’ll feel beautiful.
Tickets can be purchased online and it costs an additional $10 to create your own bouquet of tulips. When you arrive at the farm, there are other small moments of joy waiting for you. There’s space for goats where you can engage with them, adding a playful, unexpected charm to the experience. Although I could not get their attention. These little interactions make the visit feel more personal—more alive.
You can also see how the staff puts care into creating a graceful setting for guests. That attention shows in details like the swing that stands between endless rows of tulips. It’s more than just decoration; rather, it’s a place to pause, smile and to capture a moment suspended in color and light. It gives guests the chance to take pictures that don’t just look beautiful, but feel meaningful—like a memory you’ll want to return to again and again.
Walking through Dalton Farms during tulip season isn’t just about seeing flowers. It’s about stepping into a space where nature, color and emotion meet. It’s about feeling the quiet message tulips have carried.
Remember that life renews, love endures and beauty always finds its way back, like tulips.
