Varsity boys’ soccer prevails in tight game

Today, October 9, 2009, East’s varsity soccer team played the Shawnee Renegades, who are the 6th ranked team in South Jersey. The Cougars won the game, 1-0, in dramatic fashion. The score was deadlocked 0-0 for the majority of the game until East’s Brian Reynolds (’10) headed a ball into the net off a Connor McVeigh (’10) corner kick with 1 minute and 30 seconds left in regulation. East’s defense dominated as they prevented Shawnee from having any serious scoring chances throughout the game.

The win pushes the East’s record for the season to 5-3-1. The Cougar’s next game is on Tuesday, October 13, where the Cougars will travel to Medford to take on Lenape High School.
