With one phone call, years of 5 a.m. alarms, chlorine-filled afternoons, and endless weekends at swim meets led to this moment. That moment came for Sarah Boucher (‘26), who has announced her commitment to Ursinus College to further both her academic and swimming career.
“It’s very exciting and relieving to be committed. Committing definitely takes a lot of stress away for the remainder of senior year. I hope to achieve more time drops during my collegiate season while also building a career and meeting new people,” said Boucher.
Boucher has been a key part of the Cougars’ swim team successes since arriving at East. She has built an outstanding résumé, compiling a 42-7 career record, taking over 40 first place finishes, winning a conference championship in 2024, capturing sectional titles in 2023 and 2025, and earning state championships in both 2023 and 2025.
Long before becoming a standout for the Cougars, Boucher began her swimming career at just eight years old with her neighborhood team, Downs Farm. What started as a local introduction to the sport quickly grew into a long-term commitment, eventually leading her to compete for SJAC, where the challenging environment helped shape her into the swimmer she is today.
Boucher plays a major role for the Cougars, consistently competing in multiple races and contributing across the lineup. Boucher normally races in the 200 meter FR (freestyle race), 200 meter MR (Medley Relay), and either 100 meter breast or freestyle.
With the Cougars closing out the regular season with a strong 7-3 record, Boucher will look to play a key role in leading the team through the postseason. As one of the Cougars’ most consistent performers, she will be relied upon in both individual and relay events as the team sets its sights on a deep playoff run and a potential return to the state championship stage.
