The Cherry Hill High School East boys lacrosse team (Updated: 8-11) clinched their ticket to the Quarterfinal round with a 12-5 victory over Williamstown (8-10). The Cougars were able to stay intact and manage to win on a cold, rainy day, as a team.
“We dominated in the transition game which was a big part in how we won. Being able to get out and running led to tons of looks inside 10 yards for me. Capitalizing on these looks helped win us the game, and complete something that East hasn’t done in a decade. Coach Ant gave us the tools to succeed and I’m glad we could win a playoff game in his first year as a head coach here” said Miller.
The Cougars were led by standout performances from midfielders Nolan Cruz (‘26), Jared Miller (‘25), and Scott Chacker (‘25). Cruz was a force on the field, netting a game-high of four goals and leading the team with five ground balls. Miller added a hat trick of his own and an additional ground ball. Chacker followed that up with one goal and three assists. The scoring effort was capped off by attackers Nate Morgan (‘25) and Brendan Curran (‘26), who added two goals each.
“Winning our first playoff lacrosse game in 10 years during my senior year was unreal, like all the early mornings, tough losses, and grind finally paid off. It wasn’t just a win; it was a moment we’ll never forget and a huge step forward for the program – proof that we’re building something special” said senior Dylan Scholnick (‘25).
