With the weather warming up, the fields drying out, and the sound of cleats on turf returning, East spring sports are right around the corner.
After a rebuilding year, East baseball enters the spring season hungry to climb back to the top of the conference, carrying high expectations into 2026. The team will be led by Virginia Tech commit Mikey Fekete (‘27), who could see some pressure ease after announcing his commitment last September. Dillion Haddock (‘27) will look to bounce back and lead the way after a down sophomore season.
The softball team looks ready to get back into action with plenty of returning players. Evelyn Stover (‘27) leads the way after a monster season last year, recording 42 hits and posting a .512 batting average.
The boys lacrosse team will look to continue making history this spring after securing the program’s first playoff win in 10 years. Nolan Cruz (‘26) aims to build on an impressive 55-point season, providing leadership and production on the offensive end. Defensively, the Cougars will rely on goalkeeper Josh Hammer (‘26), who recorded 265 saves last season. His performance earned him a commitment to Dominican University New York, where he will continue his career at the Division II level.
The girls lacrosse team enters a rebuilding year with young talent looking to gain experience. Goalkeeper Natalie Longo (‘28) will look to build on a standout freshman campaign in which she recorded 147 saves.
The boys golf team looks to pick up where it left off after winning a sectional championship. Although the Cougars fell short at states, they enter the season with another strong opportunity ahead. Tyler Whitney (‘27) returns after an outstanding season that included multiple under-par rounds and key performances in both the Camden County Tournament and the sectional championship.
The girls golf team will aim to compete for a conference championship after finishing 7–7 last season. Amita Oberoi (‘28) returns after shooting under 50 ten times a year ago.
The boys track team is ready for another strong season. Discus thrower Tony Vega Jr. (‘26) recently announced his commitment to compete at the Division I level at Rider University. Beyond Vega, the team returns a balanced mix of experienced upperclassmen and emerging underclassmen across multiple events.
The girls track team also has high expectations, with a strong sophomore class expected to make a major impact. Maya Morgan (‘28) looks to lead the way following an impressive freshman season.
The boys tennis team looks to build on last year’s 12-3 record but will need to replace seven graduating seniors from last season’s squad.
The boys volleyball team enters a rebuilding year as underclassmen step into larger roles following heavy senior graduation losses.
