Taylor Swift has announced that her 2023 stadium tour will follow the “eras” of her career.

Ask any Taylor Swift fan this “Question…:” Are you excited for the Eras Tour? I can assure you that the answer is yes. With ten studio albums and a four-year hiatus from touring, no one was surprised when Taylor Swift announced that she would be embarking on a stadium tour, shortly after her new album, Midnights, was released. Starting the first leg of her tour on March 18th, 2023 in Glendale, Arizona, fans are eager to see Swift return to the stage once again.

Known for hidden messages or, “Easter Eggs”, (as the Swifties call them), rumors of a tour have been circulating on social media since the night Swift announced Midnights, on August 29th, 2022. Theories flooded Twitter, TikTok “for you pages,” and Instagram “explore pages,” as dedicated fans made it their mission to manifest and uncover a tour announcement. On November 1st, just 12 days after the release of Midnights, Swift went on Good Morning America to break the news.

Typically, artists will do a tour focused on their latest album. Swift, on the other hand, is doing an “Eras” tour. Although unclear of what the tour will actually be centered around, fans interpret this to mean that she will be performing songs from each of her albums, or, essentially going through the “Eras” of her life. Starting with her first album, Taylor Swift, and going all the way to Midnights, she will likely play two to three songs from each album.

What also makes this tour unique is the rotating opening acts. Split between the twenty-seven scheduled shows (as of now), the opening performances will include Gracie Abrams, HAIM, Gayle, Phoebe Bridgers, GirlInRed, Paramore, Beabadoobee, MUNA, and Owenn. The artists are individually very popular, and this will attract a broader audience for the concert.

In addition, since Swift does not have legal ownership over Taylor Swift, Speak Now, 1989, and Reputation, there are also rumors that she will release her own recordings, or the “Taylor’s Version” of these albums before the first show. This means that she has to release four albums in the next four months. Although not unusual for Swift, this would be something that has never been done before and will certainly be exciting for fans.

Being the “Mastermind” that she is, Swift definitely has other plans up her sleeve. From surprise guest appearances to unannounced album drops, nothing can be predicted with Swift.
