Ryan Hancock (‘27) dives in for the 400-yard freestyle relay.

The Cherry Hill East girls swim team defeated Passaic Tech 88-82 in the state semifinals round on Feb. 19. With the 500-yard freestyle as a turning point, they overcame Passaic Tech’s early lead, utilizing the final half of the meet to secure a win. Following their victory, the team will advance to the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association Group A state final at Neptune Aquatic Center. They will face Bridgewater-Raritan on Feb. 26 in an attempt to defend their title as state champions.

Lauren Rinehart is a sophomore and a Community Editor for Eastside. She swims competitively for SJAC, Fox Hollow, and East, and participates in SGA, JSU Board, Chansons, and Interact. In her free time, Lauren loves eating ice cream, babysitting, and writing. On weekends, she can be found singing karaoke or binge-watching Grey’s Anatomy. Lauren can’t wait for her first year on Eastside!
