On Friday, Sept. 5, at 6:15 a.m., Cherry Hill High School East seniors spread out on towels and blankets across the football field for the Class of 2026’s annual Senior Sunrise, taking photos and embracing a tradition that marks the beginning of their final year of high school together.
Supported by the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and local businesses, the event provided students with a chance to gather before school, enjoy breakfast and make memories as a class.
Breakfast included fruit, granola bars and other snacks from the PTA; donuts donated by Gallo’s Bakery; and bagels from Manhattan Bagel and Rey Bagel Bistro. East faculty and staff also handed out Class of 2026 T-shirts to students who chose to receive them during the event.
As students cemented their friendships and memories with one another by taking photos and holding up decorated signs, the Student Government Association recorded seniors predicting their plans after high school. In June, those same students will be asked to compare their earlier predictions with what they’ll know by the end of the school year.
Enjoying one of their final moments together, the Class of 2026 will gather once again at the football field, this time for Senior Sunset, on Monday, June 1, when students will sign yearbooks, take photos and celebrate the end of their high school journeys.
