In July of 2024, three months after their initial opening, Swirl’in Ice Cream & Cereal Bar on Greentree Rd in Evesham suffered damages after the nextdoor restaurant Montesini Pizza & Pasta went aflame. Almost a year later, Swirl’in has finally reopened its doors in March 2025 and has introduced new flavors for both its selection of donuts and ice creams. These new flavors include the Oreo Madness Ice Cream Sandwich, Banana Pudding Ice Cream Special, and the Strawberry Drizzled Cheesecake. Swirl’in has also added the viral Dubai Chocolate Bar to its menu.
Besides the new flavors, the establishment has not changed much since I reviewed it in June of last year. The interior still maintains the same vibe – clean, white and modern. There are the same cereal brands plastered on the walls in the eating area, the same tiles on the floor and the same open ice-cream-making area.
I reached out to the owner of Swirl’in, Giovanni Villico, but he declined to comment for the time being.
My family and I went on two separate occasions to try the new food Swirl’in offers. First was the Oreo Madness Ice Cream Sandwich. I had not tried any of Swirl’in’s donut offerings up until this point, but I wish I had – they are delicious. The donuts themselves are warm and coated with sugar, which provides a nice contrast to the cold ice cream filling, similar to the feeling I get from a brownie à la mode. The Oreo Madness specifically comes with a filling of cookies & cream ice cream topped with crushed Oreos and chocolate and a marshmallow drizzle. The combination of flavors in the filling was pleasant and sweet; I had no complaints.
Next was the Banana Pudding Ice Cream Special. This delightful treat comes with vanilla ice cream infused with banana cream and Nilla Wafers, topped once more with Nilla Wafers. The banana taste of the ice cream was admittedly overpowering, but it ultimately worked in the ice cream’s favor. The banana flavor complimented the crunchy texture of the Nilla Wafers, achieving a sort of balance. We dug into this dish so quickly that we forgot to appreciate the intricate manner in which the Nilla Wafers were ordered on top of the ice cream.
Then, we tried the Strawberry Drizzled Cheesecake. There are no ingredients listed for this ice cream on the website nor on their social media. From what I can gather based on tasting and observing it, the ice cream comes with what seems like vanilla ice cream as a base topped with bits of cheesecake and a strawberry drizzle. Still, this ice cream was great. The cheesecake added a unique texture to the ice cream that I was not expecting – it was soft and chewy, not crumbly. The strawberry drizzle with the (seemingly) vanilla ice cream worked well for a sweet combo.
Finally, we tried the Dubai Chocolate Bar. This expensive bar ($17.99 post-tax) started going viral last year on TikTok, quickly becoming a global sensation. Its milk-chocolate and gooey pistachio fillings predominantly originate from a Dubai-based chocolatier named Fix Dessert. Swirl’in’s version of the Dubai Chocolate Bar was lovely. The milk-chocolate was rich and the texture from the pistachio filling coupled surprisingly well with the bar. The pistachio filling is almost like a puree in terms of consistency with notable bits of pistachios in it. The pistachio works great with the chunky and hard chocolate. As much as I liked the Dubai Chocolate Bar, the cost is a little much. It costs more than any single ice cream or donut Swirl’in offers. The only things that have the Dubai Chocolate Bar beat in terms of cost are Swirl’in’s confections of donuts.
Despite the adversity faced from the fire, Swirl’in has proven their niche yet again. Their offerings were great when they first opened and their new offerings continue to innovate their formula. I eagerly await what ice cream and donut flavors Villico and his crew come up with next.
Swirl’in has since added even more flavors to their menu, including sundaes and milkshakes as well as new ice cream flavors like Biscoff Ice Cream.
