On April 3, 2025, Nothing Bundt Cakes expanded its adorable shop to Deptford after abundant success at its current NJ locations. The franchise has hundreds of locations already, and because the store is continuing to expand throughout South Jersey, one thing is clear–New Jersey loves Nothing Bundt Cakes!
Each store sells the same flavors, each consisting of the same moist and fresh taste. The Deptford store experience consists of entering and instantly smelling the sweet cakey aroma of your surroundings. The aesthetic appearance of cakes, pastel colors, and the overall cute look create a pleasant experience for the eyes. However, the tiny store has limited room to move due to the busy nature of the shop. There are no seats, no utensils, and no drinks. This is not a sit-down-and-eat bakery with your friends. It is an expeditious get-it-and-go experience.
Additionally, the store products are perfect for birthdays, holidays, gifts, and if you are craving a delicious little cake. The store sells candles, mugs, cards, cloths, plates, and cakes with sizes 8 or 10 inches with a choice of 10 different flavors. The store also allows customers to “Build-a-Bundt” where they can customize the size, flavor, frosting colors, and decorations. This is the perfect way for catering to special occasions or birthdays.
Lizzie Keating, a junior at East, also visited the shop and stated that she “definitely recommends catering from here for any big event because it was really good”.
The new store has been busy due to the overflow of people wanting to try out the new bakery in their town. One employee at the new location stated, “we’ve been super busy every day and definitely even more on the weekends”.
The popularity of the store clearly correlates to the customers loving the taste of the bundt cakes. My friends and I ordered vanilla, confetti, strawberries & cream, and red velvet. Each cake was fresh, had a perfect balance between the fluffiness of the cake and the sweet icing, and was refreshingly cold. I definitely recommend trying any one of these flavors. My personal favorite was confetti– it won’t disappoint!
The location of the bakery is a benefit of the new Deptford shop as well. It is within a shopping center so after you go to buy a cake, you can continue shopping at any of the other stores nearby. This proves the convenience of the shop due to its location and efficiency.
Overall, the experience of the Deptford shop was great. They had amazing food, good service, and the line went by quickly. There is not much of a difference between the Deptford and the Cherry Hill location, but both are equally good. The cake tastes delicious and is perfect for any occasion. If you are ever looking for a quick and tasteful desert, Nothing Bundt Cakes is the way to go!
