In preparation for the upcoming season, the Boys Varsity Basketball team plays multiple scrimmages to help get the team ready and in basketball shape. Prior to the start of every game (scrimmage or regular season), Cougar Head Coach John Valore gives the team a speech to prepare them for the game, but not this scrimmage. Valore chose to defer to an unexpected visitor, NBA Head Coach Mike Brown. The Cleveland Cavaliers Coach is in town as the Cavs will play the 76ers tonight at the Wachovia Center and, thanks to Sports Agent Leon Rose (father of East Guard Sam Rose(’11), Brown stopped by Cherry Hill East and spoke to the team for nearly twenty minutes prior to the start of their scrimmage versus Willingboro High School. The Cougars have three more scrimmages before their first regular season game at Lenape on December 19th.
