The seventh annual Bowling for Bears event will take place on Sunday, December 4th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Cherry Hill Playdrome.
Bowling for Bears is an annual fundraiser that donates teddy bears to local children in need.
Founder Jenny Silver (’14) created the fundraiser after seeing the devastation Hurricane Katrina caused in New Orleans.
The bears went to New Orleans for the first two years of the foundation, but have since gone to local children. Silver started the foundation when she was in fourth grade.
“I’m excited to have [Bowling for Bears] grow even more this year, and I’m hoping that the number of bears donated will increase this year [from 2400 last year],” said Silver.
This year, the event will include food, bowling, and a silent auction. The minimum donation is eight dollars. For more information, visit bowlingforbears.org
