Slippery Slopes slides down cliched path

Aoife O’Reardon ('11)/ For Eastside

sdvewcStuck up high in the European snow-capped mountains with an attractive boys ski team and the Winter Wonderland Ball coming up, what is there to do but think about boys, dresses and dancing?

Slippery Slopes, written by Emily Franklin, is the second book in her series, The Chalet Girls. In it, we meet Harley, a guy who is living it up in the tropics. Melissa, on the other hand, is planning the ball and also juggling two hot ski guys, while Dove is forced to choose between her longtime boyfriend and a new love interest.

These are about the only things the plot has in store for us. Frankly, the novel is a boring cliché unto itself, a typical teen book without any surprises.
