Senior girls and junior boys win the spirit week dodgeball tournament on Monday

The senior girls and the junior boys each brought home 500 points for their respective grades in the spirit week volleyball tournament held Monday, November 21 at 2:30 p.m. in the DiBart gym. In the boys’ tournament, the juniors defeated the freshmen 15-11 in the first preliminary round, and in a surprising upset, the sophomore boys eliminated the senior boys from a championship win with a 15-13 victory. The junior boys went on to win the finals against the sophomores and earn 500 points, losing the first of three games but securing the next two. The sophomore boys gained 350 points for their impressive second place performance. The senior boys won the consolation round against the freshmen, earning 250 points, while the freshmen were awarded with 200 points in fourth place.

In the girls’ tournament, the senior girls quickly beat the sophomores 15-9. In a similar manner, the junior girls defeated the freshmen 15-6. During the championship matches, the seniors won the first match, and the juniors took the second. Ultimately, the seniors came back for the win in the third game, taking home one championship of the day for the class of 2017. The sophomore girls brought back second place for their grade in the consolation round against the freshmen.
