There’s not a lot of opinions individuals can agree upon except for one thing. 2020 was possibly one of the worst years that will go down in history for its cruel, vile reputation. The New Year is right around the corner, and a haze remains around what everyone is curious about: what does 2021 have in store for us? Although the future of 2021 remains up in the air, there are small signs of hope that are occurring, such as the grand opening of new stores, restaurant chains, etc. The local community can await the exciting opening of the Sugar Factory from early to mid 2021 and Sephora in the Sagemore Promenade anytime between spring and summer of 2021.

If you are an avid fan of the Sugar Factory, which is currently located in Atlantic City, get excited because the Sugar Factory will soon bring their own treats to the Garden State Town Park Center in Cherry Hill! The store is known for its extravagant sweets and unique drinks that have even attracted celebrities, such as Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Drake, and more. A new location was added in hopes to expand into a more suburban area to reach a family-friendly demographic. This restaurant is expected to bring major success for the entire area since Sugar Factory is an already established, loved restaurant that is also expected to bring traffic to the Garden State shopping center from New Jersey and Philadelphia.

Not only is Sugar Factory spicing up the new year, but so is a Sephora and a LoveSac, which is a high-end modular furniture store. Both are making an entry to the Sagemore Promenade located in Marlton, anytime between the spring and summer of 2021. Sephora is planned to replace the store location that was American Eagle, and LoveSac is planned to replace Borders Books. “I think having Sephora in the Promenade is exciting because it is going to be one of two beauty stores in the promenade. Also, the closest Sephora to Marlton is at the Cherry Hill Mall, so it should also attract customers who live in Marlton to the promenade, which then in turn helps out other stores and restaurants there,” said Izzy Ortiz (‘22), who is an employee at South Moon Under, a neighboring boutique located in the Sagemore Promenade.

It’s safe to say that the entire community is looking forward to the opening of new stores next year. As they say, shopping is retail therapy, which we all need after surviving 2020.
