Ever since she was little, Kira Fowler (‘26) always dreamed of playing soccer at the highest level possible. That dream is now a step closer to becoming a reality with her recent commitment to play Division I soccer at the University of Richmond in Richmond, Virginia. For the star player, this commitment represents more than just the next steps in her career; it represents years of hard work, dedication, and a deep love for the game that has remained constant through it all.
Soccer has always been an integral part of Fowler’s life. Raised in an extremely active family, it was only natural that she chose to play soccer. Her father, who played soccer at Rutgers, was the first to introduce her to the sport, instilling a passion for something bigger than just a sport. While the success of Fowler can be attributed to herself, her commitment is an accomplishment for the whole family.
As a striker for Cherry Hill High School East, Fowler’s talent on the field has been undeniable. In addition to her high school success, she plays for Real FC, a nationally recognized club known for producing top-tier talent, competing against some of the greatest athletes in North America. The combination of her high school and club experiences has allowed Fowler to develop her skills and gain recognition from college scouts across the country.
Despite the recent struggles from the Richmond soccer team, with a disappointing 2-7-1 season, Fowler remains optimistic about the future.
“I just want to, and will, break records to help the team become better,” Fowler said with confidence. “We’ll have more winning games.”
She is determined to contribute to the team’s success and is excited to bring her talents to the college level.
Currently a junior at East, Fowler has already had a standout career, starting for the varsity team for numerous seasons. After finishing her latest season, putting her up to 25 career goals, she is looking forward to her senior year and preparing for a breakout season to end an already impressive career. With a strong work ethic, support from family, and a clear vision for her future, there is no doubt that this isn’t the last time people will hear about Kira Fowler.
