Girl’s Varsity basketball lost in their game against Cherokee 60-45 Tuesday, February 2. The girls started out well with a lead of 5-0. Then, Cherokee began to make a comeback and by halftime, Cherokee had a seven-point lead.
Cherokee is ranked third in south Jersey while East is currently in fourth. An East win would have put them in front of Cherokee.
However, some of the key players were not quite playing at their best during the game. Genevieve (’10) and Marie Boisvert (’11) who usually score the most only scored six and four points respectively.
On a positive note, other East players such as Sara Gurkin (’10) and Brittany Muniz (’11) stepped up and scored 15 points each.
