QB
Philip Rivers vs. KC- Rivers is on top of his game. Expect a big performance against a mediocre secondary at home with all of the weapons he has.
Drew Brees @ ATL- Im predicting an average performance. Atlanta has been playing well lately but Brees has enough weapons that he will find a big play once in this one.
Kurt Warner vs. SF- San Fran has been giving up big plays and Warner has the weapons to make them. He may make a mistake or 2 but he should have a solid performance if not an outstanding one.
Aaron Rodgers @ MIN- Rodgers did well in his first career start against Minnesota but this time will be tougher now that Minnesota knows what he is made of and they are playing in Minnesota this time who is hungry for revenge.
Peyton Manning @ PIT- Manning is not the same old Manning and Pittsburgh is a formidable opponent. Don’t expect much this week from Manning but he may find a hole once in 60 minutes.
BOOM PICK
Tyler Thigpen @ SD- San Diego is the 3rd worst pass defense and Thigpen has played surprisingly well against the Jets and Tampa Bay recently. I think he keeps it up and solidifies his job this week.
BUST PICK
Donovan McNabb vs. NYG- McNabb is someone who can make fantasy owners crazy. He’s the guy that when you are down by 20 will put you up by 1 and then with 2 or 3 minutes left he throws a pick and you lose by 1 point. He will struggle in this game since the Giants have been solid and he has been shaky.
RB
LaDainian Tomlinson vs. KC- Expect LT to go absolutely bonkers in this game. He may top 200 yards. Kansas City doesn’t have much of a defense and LT can do so many things.
Adrian Peterson vs. GB- Peterson has been playing exceptionally well lately and he broke 100 yards in Green Bay on week 1. Expect Peterson to top 100 and come close to 150 in a game where he will be needed if Minnesota thinks they can pull out a win in this one.
Brian Westbrook vs. NYG- Giants are a top run defense which means that Westbrook will have his work cut out for him. Expect an ok performance since Giants will contain him between the tackles but Westbrook can find yards receiving on the outside.
Michael Turner vs. NO- New Orleans does have its days where they can control the running game but this will not be one of them. At home and in a pivotal divisional rivalry, Turner will put his best foot forward.
Chris Johnson @ CHI- He has been lightning lately and the Bears have their days when they give up yardage. Their d-line has struggled so Johnson can have a surprisingly good performance. He will find the end zone too in this one.
BOOM PICK
Tim Hightower vs. SF- San Fran gives up 30 points per week to running backs and Hightower gets the start and is the goal line back so he should have a field day and might cross the goal-line more than once.
BUST PICK
Matt Forte vs. TEN- Tennessee’s run defense is too good and possibly being without Orton may make Tennessee focus more on Forte and be set on shutting him down.
WR
Larry Fitzgerald vs. SF- Clements will be a tough matchup for Fitzgerald but he should gain yards in this one but as I said before, Fitzgerald is not the red zone target. That job would be Boldin’s. Expect yards but no scores again.
Calvin Johnson vs. JAC- This will not be his best day. He has a QB in Culpepper who is still learning the offense and Johnson has to go up against Rashean Mathis who is a shutdown corner.
Andre Johnson vs. BAL- With the loss of Chris McAllister this will help Andre. Samari Rolle will be on him. Surprisingly, the loss of Matt Schaub helps him too. Schaub tends to spread the ball around more and now with Rosenfels he will go to the dependable Johnson who will have no problem getting open.
Greg Jennings @ MIN- The last time Jennings was in Minnesota he caught the record breaking TD pass from Brett Favre. Winfield may present a matchup problem since last meeting, Jennings had 1 big 50 yard catch and then he had 40 yards the rest of the night.
Reggie Wayne @ PIT- This will be a difficult matchup for Wayne but one must wonder if he can really be shutdown 3 weeks in a row. I think he finds a way to help out Peyton who will struggle but find him once for a TD.
BOOM PICK
Anquan Boldin vs. SF- He is the red zone guy and San Fran gives up plays. Boldin will have a big day that will be surprisingly quiet.
BUST PICK
Steve Smith @ OAK- I know Oakland doesn’t scare people but Smith will go up against Nnamdi Asomugha and then if he is able to burn him, he will have to deal with Gibril Wilson and Michael Huff. With no other WR to take attention off of him. I feel a bust here on the road.
TE
Antonio Gates vs. KC- Does KC’s secondary scare anyone? NO. Especially not Gates.
Tony Gonzalez @ SD- San Diego has had a struggling secondary recently and Gonzalez has played well. Expect a good performance.
Dallas Clark @ PIT- Don’t expect much this week. He may get a cheap TD possibly but I’d avoid.
Owen Daniels vs. BAL- With Rosenfels at QB he may use Daniels to checkdown a lot but in the red zone he will be looking for Andre Johnson.
Greg Olsen vs. TEN- Avoid. Tennessee is a top 3 pass defense and Olsen won’t have Orton throwing to him.
BOOM PICK
Mercedes Lewis @ DET- Detroit will give up plays. I’m thinking that Lewis finds the end zone against the pathetic Detroit defense.
BUST PICK
LJ Smith @ NYG- Smith is hands of stone and playing a great secondary. Plus he is still fragile coming off of an injury.
