Player: Chris Santo (’11) Sport: Boys’ Varsity Basketball
Accomplishment: This past week Santo led the team in scoring in their three games. In a loss versus Pennsauken High School on January 27, Santo scored 24 points. On January 29 versus Lenape High School, the number 7 ranked high school basketball team in South Jersey, according to the Courier Post, Santo dropped 14 points, a game high, in a 58-44 loss. Finally, Santo had a huge game on Satuday, January 31 versus Ewing, when he scored 48 points and grabbed 13 rebounds while leading the Cougars to a 79-56 win. Santo’s 48 points were just five short of the East record for most points scored in a single game. The current record is held by George Ramming, who on January 15, 1981, scored 53 points versus Holy Spirit.
