On February 6th, Cherry Hill High School East girls varsity basketball team (10-15) faced a challenging defeat against the Cherokee High School Chiefs (20-9), ending the game with a final score of 63-32.
Despite the tough loss, there were notable performances, including Dylan Kratchman (‘27), who continues to impress with her remarkable skills on the court. Kratchman led the Cougars’ offense with a strong 16-point performance, setting herself a season-high in three-pointers. She showcased her accuracy from beyond the arc, shooting an impressive 4-for-5, a standout moment in the game. Alongside her scoring, Kratchman also displayed her versatility by contributing in other areas, grabbing 5 rebounds to lead the team as well.
East captain Darby Chhabria (‘25) also had an impressive performance in the game, showcasing her leadership and all-around skill set. Chhabria played a pivotal role on both ends of the floor, contributing 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists in what was a well-rounded effort.
Starters Jessie Atlas (‘27) was able to contribute with 2 steals. Maya Morgan (‘28) added an impressive bucket as the second half was winding down. Lastly, Michelle Le (‘26) added a layup that came from one of Atlas’s steals in the first half.
Despite the loss, the Cougars had lots of positive takeaways from this game and will look to get back on track for the remainder of the season.
