East girls’ soccer’s Olivia Reganata commits to the University of Dubuque
Olivia Reganata (’22) has committed to the University of Dubuque to play D3 soccer. She currently plays midfield and forward for our East girls soccer team and will be bringing her talents to the University of Dubuque in the fall.
Reganata has been playing soccer since she was just four years old and playing soccer in college was always an aspiration in her mind, “For me, it was an easy decision because I have wanted to play soccer in college for as long as I could remember,” Reganata says. Playing soccer for the East team has left an impact on Reganata , as well. Reganata feels that playing for the East team has prepared her for college soccer because here at East, the team loses and adds players every year- just like college. This has given her the opportunity to get used to playing with different people every year. Playing on the East girls soccer team has also taught Reganata many lessons that she will take with her to college — especially about teamwork. Reganata feels that “You could have a whole team of all-stars on the field, but if you don’t work together it means nothing.”
For Reganata, the commitment process was pretty straightforward. “I emailed a few coaches videos of me playing and waited for a response,” Reganata says. The University of Dubuque was the first college to get back to her and told her that they liked her style of play. Furthermore, the coach invited Reganata to visit the college and attend their ID camp.
In the fall, Olivia will be majoring in Aviation when she attends the University of Dubuque. She has already started her flight training and wishes to pursue a career in commercial airlines. Reganata is excited to start studying more about her major and we wish her the best of luck in the future!
