East girls soccer Katie Quarry commits to Widener University
Katie Quarry (‘22) has committed to Widener University to continue her soccer career. Quarry played all four years of high school soccer and was an avid member of the team. She has been playing soccer since she was five years old.
Quarry has always been very fond of the sport and always knew she would have this opportunity, “[my] club coach is the assistant coach of Widener University girls soccer team. [I] always knew I had a spot, but this fall [I] was officially offered the position.” Quarry will be majoring in nursing.
Quarry showed real interest in the school after touring, “[I] toured the school last summer and [I] loved the location. It’s close enough where my family can visit and come to my games, but it’s far enough where [I] won’t feel like [I’m] at home,” Quarry said. Quarry plays outside midfield for East. East has affected her love for playing in many great ways, “The connection [I] had with my teammates and best friends really added to my love for soccer. [I] loved the activities and team bonding. [I] just really loved being part of the team.” Quarry can’t wait to continue her academic and athletic career.
