Yesterday, December 28, the Cherry Hill East Varsity basketball team gained its first win of the season by defeating Gloucester Catholic.
In the first quarter, Edou Zaken (’11) contributed four points, helping the Cougars start out strong with an 8-4 lead. By halftime, the Cougars held a generous 16-point lead against the Rams. Throughout the second half, East kept a consistent lead up until the last buzzer, with Christ Santo (’11) contributing a total of 21 points by the end of the game.
The final score was 49 to 38.
