Today, Tuesday May 3, the East golf team lost to Paul VI at River Wind in a very close match. The cougars finished just two strokes above Paul VI, and lost 172 to 174. East’s six players were Vincent Kwon (’12), Eric Park (’14), Ross Bryan (’12), Harrison Kim (’12), David Friedman (’12) and Stephan Glatz (’12).

“It was very intense, it was our first time playing at this course this season, and we were very focused because we needed a win,” said Kim.

Although the loss was upsetting, the team has its sights set for the future.

“We were really disappointed, but hopefully we can perform better on Thursday,” Kim said.

Kim, Kwon, Bryan and Park are representing East in the Carl Arena Tournament on Thursday the fifth, which is one of the most prestigious high school golf tournaments in the state. The cougars are not letting today’s loss ruin their focus and plan on coming out on Thursday stronger than ever.
