Boys’ volleyball continues winning

For the second time in five days, East’s varsity volleyball team took on visiting Williamstown High School and won in straight games, 25-23, 25-17. David Ravitz (’10) led the Cougars with 8 kills in yesterday’s game, while Andrew Pursell (’10) (7 kills), Eric Zaun (’11) (6 kills), and Mike Wolf (’10) (5 kills) followed in suit. East setter Rishi Sarkar (’10) led the team with 20 assists.

“Williamstown is a tough program. They are ranked top 20 in South Jersey, so we knew we had to work hard to win today. We knew they wanted revenge for our win versus them last week, and they played well today, but we really clicked as a team and pulled out the win,” said Sarkar.

With the win, East, the sixth ranked high school volleyball team in New Jersey,  improves to 17-0 on the season. In addition to winning every match this year, the Cougars have yet to lose a single game in a match all year thus far. They are currently 34-0 in individual games.

The Cougars will look to continue their winning ways tomorrow when they take on Moorestown High School in Moorestown at 3:45 PM.
