Boys’ varsity basketball shoots for Valore’s 500th win this Saturday

The varsity boys’ basketball game scheduled for Tuesday, February 3 against Northwest Prep was cancelled due to inclement weather.

If the Cougars win this game, which is postponed until Saturday, February 7, it will mark the 500th career win for Head Coach John Valore. Valore, who has coached the East varsity boys’ basketball team since the 1976-77 season, has made quite a name for himself in the South Jersey area. Over the past 33 years that he has coached, Valore has received numerous honors such as having the Mayor of Cherry Hill, Bernie Platt, declare February 24, 2006 “John Valore Day.”

Though the Cougars must now wait longer for the opportunity to provide Valore with this important milestone, when it comes the win will be worth the wait.
