On Saturday, November 7th, East’s boys’ varsity cross country team traveled to Delsea High School to participated in the South Jersey Group 4 Sectional Race. The Cougars finished in fifth place behind Shawnee, Southern Regional, Toms River North, and Cherokee respectively. With the fifth place finish, the Cougars qualified for the NSIAA Group Championship next Saturday at Holmdel State Park in Holmdel, NJ. Leading the way for the Cougars was Steve Omari (’11) in 15th place with a time of 16:38. Damon Glatz (’11) and Chris Dinh (’10) followed close behind with times of 16:48 (19th place) and 16:56 (25th place) respectively. Rounding out the five man scoring team for the Cougars was Zach Ianarelli (’12) with a time of 17:15 (37th place) and DJ Rodriguez (’12) 17:20 (40th place).
