The Cougars Boys’ basketball team played Rancocas Valley in their third scrimmage of the season yesterday. December 12. The fast-paced scrimmage was a great opportunity for the team to get ready for the upcoming season. Although the score was reset at the end of every quarter, East dominated each quarter individually, shooting well from the free throw line and using a lot of hustle-plays. The Cougars definitely played cohesively in the scrimmage, working hard on both offense and defense.
“We were trying to work on limiting turn-overs,” said captain Marc Schlessel (’12). “We have to get some chemistry, and that will come with playing more. We were successful with that today.”
The next scrimmage is Wednesday, December 14 against Paul VI, one of the best teams in the district, where East will have the opportunity to further set the standard for the rest of the season.
“There’s some crispness we can improve on for the rest of the season,” Schlessel said.
