Since she was 11, Aubree Mon (‘25) has had a passion for volleyball. Mon has put in countless hours of training and practice to become the best volleyball player she can possibly become. Her hard work and perseverance are the reason why she will be playing Division 1 Volleyball at Delaware State University. At East, Mon has been a powerful force on the Girl’s Volleyball team. Her position as a setter has garnered impressive stats, making 830 career assists and breaking the school-wide record with over 158 career aces. Mon chose Delaware State because it fit her personality the most.
Volleyball has been a prominent part of her family for generations and has led her to continue on her family tradition.
“My dad and family have inspired me and pushed me. [Volleyball] is a family tradition leading from my great grandfather,” she said.
Despite being shorter compared to other high-leveled volleyball players, her hard work and techniques have never let that hold her back. Instead, her hard work, technique, and support system helped her overcome any challenges on the court.
Beyond her accomplishments in the volleyball world, Mon cherishes the bond she has developed with her team over the years.
“I [love] the team dynamic and chemistry,” she mentioned while reflecting on her experiences at East.
Mon will continue her athletic and academic journey at Delaware State University, bringing her athletic experiences and personality to contribute to the team. She will keep up with her academics, studying Biological Sciences, while improving her volleyball skills to continue her journey.
