Lauren Fadeley Veyette trained at the Orlando Ballet School and the School of Performing Arts in Florida before moving to New York City to study at the School of American Ballet. She began her professional career at 16 with the New York City Ballet, performing works by renowned choreographers. After two years, she pursued further education at Indiana University, graduating cum laude in 2007. She joined the Pennsylvania Ballet in 2007, becoming a Principal Dancer in 2012, and later joined Miami City Ballet in 2016, where she was promoted to Principal Soloist in 2017. Lauren has performed principal roles in numerous classical and contemporary works and appeared in the film “Black Swan.” She has also guest performed with various ballet companies and participated in prestigious dance festivals. She started teaching while at Indiana University and has continued to teach at various ballet schools and summer intensives. In 2018, she co-founded Veyette Virtual Ballet School with her husband, Francis Veyette. She retired from professional dancing in 2021 and became the Principal of the Kansas City Ballet School.

Alexis is a junior and a Community Editor for Eastside. At East, Alexis plays in the orchestra and participates in Amnesty International, Habitat for Humanity, Interact, and JSU. Outside of East, she enjoys dancing at Lowe Dance Studio, playing the violin, volunteering in the community, and hanging out with friends and family on the weekends.
