Dr. Perry Announces Retirement From Cherry Hill High School East

In a letter sent out today to the Cherry Hill High School East community, Dr. Morton, Superintendent of Cherry Hill Public Schools, relayed that Dr. Dennis Perry has announced his plan to retire effective September 1, 2024. Dr. Perry has served as principal of East since 2016, before which he served as principal of Beck Middle School from 2005 to 2016.

The district plans to “begin the hiring process immediately,” according to Dr. Morton, to find a replacement for Dr. Perry. This comes at a time of turbulent change within the district; Cherry Hill Public Schools recently appointed Dr. Morton (previously Interim Superintendent) to Superintendent, George Guy (previously Principal of Rosa International Middle School) to Director of Elementary Education, Dr. Neil Burti (previously Principal of John A. Carusi Middle School) to Director of Secondary Education, and Dr. Cafagna (previously Principal of Horace Mann Elementary School) to Principal of Rosa International Middle School.

This is an ongoing story; Eastside will publish more updates when more information becomes available.
