– Stella McCartney had to take a break from fashion design because she was giving birth to her third child, a son. Her newest son is named Beckett and I’m sure his older brother and sister are thrilled! They’re so lucky to have a great fashion designer as a parent and not to mention the Beatle legend Paul McCartney as a grandparent.
– Jennifer Connelly (from Hulk and Blood Diamond) is the new spokesmodel for Balenciaga. Balenciaga clothing is not very easy to pull off but I think Jennifer Connelly does it well.
– Anne Hathaway of French, Irish, German and Native American descent, is the newest spokesperson – and face – for Lancome. The president of Lancome International had this to say about their choice: “Anne Hathaway is a radiant young woman who perfectly embodies modern femininity. We know she will portray all the passion and excitement of our new fragrance, to be launched throughout the world in September 2008″
– Kate Bosworth is the new face of Calvin Klein Jeans. “She is a true American beauty,” Kevin Carrigan, creative director of Calvin Klein Jeans.” “Her purity of style and sensuality are a perfect match for the natural, clean modernity of the Calvin Klein Jeans line.”
– Rachel Zoe, stylist to the stars, is “busily working with Bravo to bring a new behind-the-scenes show that she says will not be invasive to the privacy of her clients, but which will follow her daily duties. The show will be an hour long and will start airing either in June or September depending on when things are finalized.”
– Because MTV wants to keep viewers interested, they are deciding to mix things up and are planning to have Lauren Conrad leave Teen Vogue. Whitney Port has reportedly accepted a job at W Magazine.
– Tom Brady, the new model for Stetson, is also the new celebrity spokesperson for Smartwater.
– Marc Jacobs, Stella McCartney, Jil Sander, Burberry, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Narciso Rodriguez and Versace have signed up to take part in a special show to raise awareness of ethical issues in fashion, Vogue UK reports. Each designer will create one of a kind designs for “Earth Pledge’s Future Fashion catwalk show” which will be presented on January 31st. Its purpose is to promote “renewable, reusable and nonpolluting materials and methods.”. The event will take place at New York’s Gotham Hall to kick off Fashion Week in New York. Fashion week is February 1st- February 8th this year.
– Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen, co-stars of the upcoming movie Jumper, have teamed up for a public service announcement. Do Something and Aeropostale have teamed up for a nationwide jeans drive to benefit teen homelessness. If you have any gently worn jeans that you have no use for anymore, bring it to an Aeropostale store between January 22nd and February 10 and get an additional 20% off any new pair of jeans.
