It’s finally happened!
The ultimate source for what’s going on in fashion can now be found as a part of the school (online) newspaper. Whether you’re too busy juggling sports/activities and academics, or dealing with the things that come as part of being a teenager, its no excuse to be oblivious to what is going on in the real world – in this case, the fashion world. Every Friday, I’ll tell you what’s going on and soon enough you’ll be as much of a fashion junkie as I am. So read on and prepare to increase your fashion IQ!
“The Hills” star Lauren Conrad launched her epononymous fashion line on Saturday September 14th. You may have seen her wear some of her designs at MTV’s video music awards, the teen choice awards and in the october issue of Seventeen Magazine.
Famed designer, Vera Wang, has collaborated with Kohl’s to bring you Simply Vera by Vera Wang on September 13th.It features young, edgy, and chic clothing at an affordable price.
Target partnered with British designer Alice Temperley, to create the next limited edition collections for GO, a program designed to provide affordable fashion by world-renowned designers. Her collection debuted on September 16 and will be available until November 6th.

Valentino Garavani, the designer for Valentino, announced his retirement from the company he has headed since 1960 on Tuesday September 4th. The designer who is to replace him, has some very big shoes to fill.
While we were starting school, New York was hosting New York Fashion week where designers presented collections for spring/summer 2008. London Fashion week was Sep 15-sep 20. Milan fashion week was from Sep 22-Sep 29 and Paris fashion week will be from Sep 30- Oct 8.
There’s now such a thing as Fergalicious handbags. Fergie the hit singer, has teamed up with Kipling to create her own line of handbags. The line has 3 models, one of which has already arrived at stores on September 1st. The other two lines will be released in October and November.
Karl Lagerfeld, Chanel’s creative director and successor has signed a deal to produce his own line of leather handbags which will launch spring/summer 2008.
Fashion designer, Roberto Cavalli, will be the first Italian designer to create a collection for H&M. The 25 pieces of womenswear designed exclusively for H&M will be at 200 select stores worldwide beginning November 8th.
Sarah Jessica Parker’s fall Bitten collection [available since September 15th] joined Amanda Bynes’ Dear by Amanda collection with its debut on August 16th. Both lines are extremely affordable costing $19.98 or less and can be found exclusively at Steve &Barry stores.
Project Runway hosted by Heidi Klum will debut its 4th season on Wednesday November 14th on Bravo. Speaking of Project runway, Tim Gunn’s show Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style premiered on September 9th.
Chanel’s new very charming ad for the fragrance “Coco mademoiselle”, features the new face of Chanel, Keira Knightley and Joss Stone’s version of Nat King Coles song L-O-V-E.
Super couple, David and Victoria Beckham (aka Posh and Becks), now have a fragrance: Intimately Beckham.
The debut issue of Vogue India launched on september 20th with “the most adored faces in India and internationally”. Bollywood stars and Gemma Ward graced the 1st cover reminiscent of Vogue Chinas cover in 2005.
The world’s highest paid supermodel, Gisele Bündchen, was featured on the September cover of GQ and Vanity Fair. She also graced the covers of Harper’s Bazaar UK and Vogue Paris in October. She never ceases to amaze us!
