Summer Goes Back to Normal
Contrary to last year, this summer feels normal as venues are now open and the mask mandate has been lifted in certain stores and restaurants in New Jersey. Since many people have been vaccinated, there is much more of a variety of activities to participate in. Summer camps are open and traveling is popular again. Fortunately, students are able to relax and recharge this summer after what has been a challenging year for so many.
Some students got jobs over the summer while others are planning on traveling.
Lisa Gorbati (‘21) said, “I plan on spending lots of time with my family and friends. I will also be working and preparing to move into college.”
Jesse Sklar (‘24) said, “I will be at an overnight camp in the poconos called Ramah. It starts on July 1st and ends on August 15th. I will practice Jewish services each day and spend the summer without any electronics.”
Bella Banfe (‘21) said, “I am planning on getting my stuff ready and hanging out with my friends before I leave for college. I also plan on going sailing with my family.”
Angela Merch (‘22) said, “I am happy to finally be relaxing and detaching from my room and my computer. I plan on swimming and going to meets and having fun with my teams! I just want to make the most out of this Covid free summer.”
There are a variety of activities that East students can do this summer. However, it is guaranteed that everyone is going to take advantage and appreciate this summer since everyone missed out on certain experiences last year.
