The appealing aroma from the pizza may have caused the large turnout, but the heated sports arguments definitely had an effect. Today was the second meeting and the first debate for the Sports Debate Club after school. Various sports topics were discussed, ranging from all major professional sports.
At the meetings, students form teams of four or five members, and compete to defend their sports views.
The meetings are now different from the past. “This year the meetings are definitely better. It’s a lot more organized, meetings are more frequent, and there is much more communication,” Raiyan Hadi (’11) said.
The Sports Debate Club is trying to put together a field trip, and will meet every other week for the continuation of the year.
