Nevin Beasley Senior Perspective
June 12, 2016
Since the first day of freshman year I knew what East had to offer. Even before then I heard of the great opportunities that would be in store for me right hear at East.
From starting school at 7:30 a.m. to getting home at 5:30 p.m. from practice, it’s easy to say most of my high school life has been spent at East. Yes, we are all ready to graduate and move on, but that sense of routine (well at least for me) will be something that will be missed. Going out into a world far from the usual people you see every day will be a monumental change in your everyday life. But if there’s one thing I learned is how to adapt.
With the great friendships made and myriad of lessons learned, I can say that the past four years have been some unforgettable years. With countless hours spent after school with track, to participating in various activities after school, East has really became just another home. As George Bernard Shaw said, “Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.” So instead of just passing by and just existing, we can comfortably say that East has put us in a position to not only find ourselves, but instead create a life for ourselves giving full control to our destinies, deriving from the great experiences that we’ve shared here at East.
