The French Club met today, November 25, to watch a French film that is popular today in France.
“We are watching a current French movie to learn about modern French culture,” said Katie Maxymuk (’09), as she explained the purpose of the meeting.
“Bienvenue Chez Les Ch’Tis,” which translates into “Welcome to the Home of the Ch’Tis,” is a film about a man who must live in northern France with the Ch’Tis people as a consequence of the scamming he did as a post office worker. The eight students, along with the Presidents of the club, Madeline Rotella (’09), Katie Maxymuk (’09), and Kristen Beatty (’09), watched this film with French subtitles as they ate popcorn and French cookies.
