On Tuesday, January 18, The Filipino Culture Society had a bake sale. This is the club’s second year at East, and so far, they’ve had a great year.
Their earlier bake sale on January 10th was a lucrative one – the total profit was $95. The bake sale on the 18th held $65. There were cupcakes, brownies, cookies and candy present at the bake sale.
“Sometimes, members like to decorate the cupcakes with Pokeballs, sprinkles, and Hello Kitty stuff,” says club President Monica Valdez (’11). The cupcakes are indeed their best selling feature.
“The biggest rush is between 2:35 to 2:45,” says Valdez. Their strategy is to start lowering the prices once the rush fades away. Overall, FCS profits greatly from these bake sales.
