This Thursday, October 30th, East’s music department will hold its Fall Preview Concert at 7:30. The Fall Preview Concert offers every East music group – vocal and instrumental – the chance to perform one piece.
“It is one of our favorite concerts because it gives the audience a chance to see all that East has to offer musically,” wrote Mrs. Lausi.
The concert will begin with the marching band performing the National Anthem and the first movement from their show, “Mars.”
Subsequently, the following groups (listed in no particular order) will perform: Casual Harmony, a choreographed version of “Love Potion No. 9”; Belles of East, “Theme from Ice Castles”; Madrigals, a rendition of the Beatles “Money Can’t Buy Me Love”; East Singers, “Wild Mountain Thyme”; Concert Choir, “Dust in the Wind”; Vocal Workshop, a gospel piece entitled “True Light”; Chansons, an American Folk song entitled “Shenandoah”; Celebrations, “Gypsy Dance”; Freshman Wind Ensemble, “Hoe Down”; Symphonic Band, “Encanto.”
Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, String Orchestra, Jazz Band and Jazz Standards will also perform.
“We are really thrilled with all of our groups this year and look forward to watching them grow as performers,” wrote Lausi.
