Today the Fall Blood Drive committee held its second publicity meeting. This year marks the highest amount of publicity workers, as approximately fifty request forms have been filled out by students wishing to partake in the event.
Last year’s Fall Blood Drive set the goal to have 260 blood donors, however Alex Neubaum (’10), a Blood Drive Chairperson expects East will exceed this number. In contrast to the spring season, The Fall Blood Drive lasts for two days and is open to the community. Also, this year the American Red Cross has changed the legal age to donate blood from 17 to 16, with signed parental consent. These two factors will allow for more people to participate in the event than in previous years.
According to Neubaum, the All High School Conference in Philadelphia will be giving Cherry Hill East an award for high participation.
For those interested in involving themselves with the Blood Drive, meetings will be held October 13, 20, 22, 27, 29 and November 2 after school.
