Winter concert is a success

On Tuesday, December 16, East’s vocal department and orchestra performed in the Winter Concert. Many groups sang or played winter-themed songs to match the season.

Each group performed the following pieces:

Celebrations:
“Gypsy Dance,” “Steppin’ Out With Rudolph,” and “Ukranian Bell Carol”

Concert Choir:
“Dust in the Wind,” “Dreams of Thee,” and “Chindia”

Vocal Workshop:
“True Light,” “Domine Fili Unigenite from Gloria,” “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”

String Orchestra:
“Concerto in D Major, First Movement,” “Orange Jam,” “Fiddle Fever” \

Chansons:
“Turkish March,” “Shenandoah,” “Hotaru Koi”

Hotaru Koi stunned the audience by performing with pin lights in the darkened auditorium.

East Singers:
“The Water is Wide,” “Salseo,” “Witness”

Witness, an a capella piece, was sung in 8 different parts.

Symphony Orchestra:
“Cavalleria Rusticana,” “Symphony No.4, Opus 90”

Madrigals:
“God Rest You Merry, Gentlemen,” “Greensleeves,” “We Wish You a Merry Christmas”

Belles of East:
“House at Pooh Corner,” “Silver Bells,” “Winter Wonderland”

Casual Harmony:
“I Wish I Was Single Again,” “White Christmas,” “Happy Together”

For the grand finale, the entire vocal department sand along with the orchestra to “The Hallelujah Chorus” and “Shalom.”
