East Choir successes in Boston

On the weekend of April 5 through April 7, 2024, East brought three choirs to the 2024 Boston Heritage Festival, singing against top schools from around the nation for as far afield as California.

East brought three choirs to perform in the festival. Concert Choir, a male group directed by Heather Lockart, obtained a Gold award for their performance of Viva La Companie. East Singers, a group directed by Lausi, was also awarded a Gold award for their Performance of Ohtul, Soon Ah Will Be Done, and Softest Rains. Lastly, Chansons, a female group directed by Heather Lockart, was awarded Gold and took home a first-place win in their category for their performances of Vichten, Orion, and Turning.

Additionally, Chansons were awarded an “outstanding choir,” the best in completion across all categories. East singers have been invited to Carnegie Hall to perform in the future to showcase more of their music. As a school, the East choir department was awarded “Choral Sweepstakes” which gained the students their fourth trophy of the competition!

Overall, the East Choir department was very successful at the 2024 Boston Heritage Festival, and cannot wait for their future performances and awards!
