On the brink of retrieving the information of yet another one of the six cards that hold “Scylla,” former Federal Agent Alex Mahone’s temper got the best of him when he punched an officer and got himself arrested trying to retrieve Roland’s WI-FI device. He went to jail and Agent Self’s handpicked group of people chosen to take down The Company became shorthanded. There were mixed feelings as to whether or not it was worth it to try to break Mahone out of jail, but they ended up making the attempt anyway. 

Speaking of Mahone, he and Wyatt, the man who killed his son, had a heated phone conversation which might be William Fichtner’s best scene on “Prison Break” this season. 

Meanwhile, under his new alias as Cole Pfeiffer, T-Bag has gotten himself into some trouble at GATE, when his co-worker started checking up on his clients and realized that some didn’t have valid Social Security Numbers. T-Bag, terrified, quickly fled back to his hotel room before he was confronted. Little did he know, there would still be a confrontation later in the episode… just not with the person he expected. 

Wyatt went after Agent Self after Self had tried to reveal the identity of The General, the leader of The Company. After warning Self to stay away, he attempted to visit Mahone, who was going by the alias “Frank Zwan,” at the police station, but he was denied as Mahone was prepping to go on trial. They would meet again later in the show, and Fichtner’s great acting would be showcased once again without him saying one word. 

The most interesting part about this week’s show was when Gretchen visited her sister and her “niece.” The angle showed a human side of Gretchen, which I didn’t think would ever be shown, and it also showed how evil she could get. Hiding a gun in a present she gave to her sister reminded everyone that she was still the killer that she was last season. If that wasn’t enough, a few more knockout punches later in the show should have been. 

Overall, the show this week was very good, but there were a few parts that didn’t seem to fit. The scenes between Wyatt and Mahone thus far have been gold, and the minor storylines around T-Bag and Gretchen have been good, but the main storyline is starting to get too repetitive. It’s following the same basic format each week to try and retrieve a card. That needs to change soon because the episodes are starting to get too predictable. If the format is changed then the show will get much better. Right now, while it’s very good, it hasn’t reached the peak that it reached last season just yet.

A+: Episode is nearly perfect. It doesn’t get any better then this 

A, A-: Excellent Episode with only minor flaws or imperfections, a must-watch episode for anyone who enjoys TV 

B+, B: Good but not great episode, has flaws in a few key areas but still a great television experience 

B-, C+, C: Enjoyable show that has some obvious flaws, but has certain aspects that make it a decent show 

C-, D+, D: Episode with more weaknesses than strengths, barely watch able. But, worth a look if one is a fan of the genre 

F: Episodes receiving this grade are not worth the time. These have numerous shortcomings and flaws. Minimal to zero entertainment value
