A Disney classic takes a magical turn and comes to life on stage in New York City, New York. Rodger and Hammerstein’s Cinderella on Broadway is an enchanting journey for people of all ages, and a great summer memory to make.
Based off of the Disney classic, Cinderella, Rodger and Hammerstein’s Cinderella on Broadway is the perfect combination of an old classic mixed with the current time period. The world’s most treasured fairytale becomes real life!
Ella, played by Laura Osnes, fits the role perfectly. Her outstanding singing voice and down-to-earth personality portray the favorite princess, Cinderella, exactly as one would picture. Laura was previously nominated for a Tony and excels in her role as Ella.
Ella’s prince charming, Prince Topher, played by Santino Fontana, charms audiences. Not only does he win over Ella’s heart, but captures audience members hearts of all ages. Prince Topher is witty and romantic, yet has a sense of humor that never fails to make one laugh.
Other cast members include, Victoria Clark who plays Ella’s fairy godmother, Harriet Harris who plays Ella’s stepmother, Ann Harada who plays Charlotte (one of Ella’s stepsisters), and Marla Mindelle who plays Gabrielle (another one of Ella’s stepsisters).
Along with the fantastic cast, the set of Rodger and Hammerstein’s Cinderella is captivating. Between the forest scenes and castle scenes, the stage always looks magical. It is extremely pleasing to the eye and is enough to entertain audiences in itself.
The music is a beautiful work of art. The catchy tunes and heart-warming voices of cast members add to the overall ambience of the show.
