With Junior and Senior Prom quickly approaching, many girls at East have already started shopping the newest trends and stores for the perfect prom dress.

There are many prom dress stores right in South Jersey and Philadelphia. Many girls tend to visit all stores and they either end up having a great experience, or a bad one. I am here to tell you the best places to visit when looking for a prom dress this season.

One of the most popular stores around town has to be Jan’s Boutique in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. They have 10,000 dresses in stock in sizes 000- 32, which is a very wide variety of dresses to shop from. Most boutiques in town do not have this many options to choose from. Jan’s Boutique carries the most popular brands including Jovani, La Femme, Faviana and Portia and Scarlet. However, they do have a strict appointment policy. This allows every girl to be helped individually. You have to be 21 to go without a parent and you must wear gloves when trying on dresses for they want to keep them in good condition. According to Google reviews, Jan’s review summary received a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

One student at East, Francesca Crawley (‘20), who visited Jan’s said, “Jan’s is my favorite place to look for prom dresses because it is the only place I have found a corset style prom dress for sale!”

Another popular prom dress store is Dare Boutique also located in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Dare is a smaller shop, but they carry one of the most popular brands, Sherri Hill. Their staff is very supportive and honest in order to help every girl feel their best on prom night. They stay active on social media to alert the media when new dress shipments come in store. On their Instagram, they also post pictures of their customers in their dresses the day of prom. Dare’s rating on Google review is 3.5 out of 5 stars.

David’s Bridal is another must stop for every girl looking to get a dress for a good deal. This retail chain, also known for wedding and bridesmaids’ dresses, has a healthy selection of prom dresses that are discounted while still being trendy and carrying new styles. There are a few different locations, but the one closest to Cherry Hill is located in Maple Shade, New Jersey. Carsen Vespe (‘20) found her beautiful senior prom dress at David’s,

Vespe said, “I love that the employees were very nice and helpful, and they are not pushy.”

According to Google review, David’s Bridal received 4.5 out of 5 stars and seems to be very popular.

Last but not least, we have Castle Couture located in Manalapan, New Jersey. Like Jan’s, Castle Couture has a very large selection of dresses to choose from. The store itself is big and luxurious just like a castle. Trying on dresses definitely makes you feel like a princess in this store! However, there is usually a long wait to try on dresses. Castle Couture is very popular not only in New Jersey, but Staten Island, New York, and all over the U.S. They have 4.5-5 stars according to Google review.
