For the past twenty years, the JCC (Jewish Community Center) Cherry Hill has thrown a huge annual festival, The ABC (Arts, Books and Culture) Festival. This event hosts more than thirty famous people such as authors and performers to help raise money for the JCC. The funds are then distributed to different people in need such as the poor and the elderly. This year, the festival will be held November 7 through 15, where the stars are going to be bigger and better than ever before.
The JCC has gathered some of the most sought after celebrities to join the upcoming ABC celebration. Guests include Duff Goldman who is from the hit TV show Ace of Cakes and Paul Krugman, a 2008 Noble Prize winner in economics. Other celebrities that are expected to attend the festival are Marc Vetri, the popular chef, Ehud Segev, an international mentalist and Peter Singer, an influential philosopher.
There is something for people of every age to enjoy at the festival. For adults, there is the “Legends in Concert” show. For the youngsters, there is the “Mama Doni” music concert. On Wednesday night, sports enthusiasts can partake in events fully dedicated to sports writers. The event also entails an “American Doll” book collection for the younger girls to enjoy. The festival’s last day, November 15, is dedicated to family-fun events that are free. No matter what one is interested in, there is a good chance that there will be a showcase to enjoy. All of the money raised from the ABC Festival is donated into programming for the Cherry Hill community.
