THE UNITED STATES CAUGHT AND KILLED OSAMA BIN LADEN IN A $1 MILLION DOLLAR MANSION OUTSIDE ISLAMABAD IN PAKISTAN.
Libya: Two journalists died in Libya, marking the first American deaths in the conflict. Chris Hondros and Tim Hetherington, the Oscar-nominated director of Restrepo, died during air strikes on April 22. Gaddafi’s son and three grandchildren died during a NATO air strike. The Prime Minister of Turkey openly denounced Gaddafi and asked him to step down.
Vatican City: The late Pope Jon Paul II was beatified on April 28. The beatification is a step to sainthood. Some critics cite the sexual abuse scandal that transpired under his papacy as a reason against his beatification.
Yemen: Earlier, President Saleh agreed to step down in 30 days in exchange for immunity for him and his family. However, he refused to sign the agreement in an effort to stall.
