Tara Owens (1992)
Tara Owens played field hockey and lacrosse. She was inducted into the hall of fame for both sports. The day she found out she was selected, she cried happy tears and was so thankful to be recognized for her talents. Her family was always a big supporter of hers and gave her positive energy and motivation whenever she stepped on the field. She even made the varsity field hockey team freshman year, which not many people do. She made many outstanding achievements through the years but was most proud of the memories. She says, “on paper, I achieved X, Y, and Z, but the most important thing to me about sports was the camaraderie and having fun”. She had fun playing her sport because he was constantly surrounded by supportive friends, coaches, teammates, and family. Tara also learned many life lessons from sports that gave her motivation for life goals after high school. Without sports, she would not be the same person she is today.
