Sarah tries to drink a shot of apple cider vinegar every day
Apple cider vinegar (ACV) is known for its many benefits, such as weight loss, reducing belly fat and killing bacteria. If there are so many benefits, why doesn’t everyone drink it?
Once you smell the vinegar, you would know exactly why. The potent smell of the popular vinegar is extremely overwhelming. The smell was one of the reasons why I found it difficult to follow this lifestyle change.
For my twenty days challenge, I drank a shot of ACV with a glass of water every morning. Even with the small amount of vinegar was mixed with a glass of water, the smell and taste were still overpowering.
For the first couple of days, I had to hold my nose in attempt to avoid the unpleasant smell and taste. After a while, it was not as bad, since I was somewhat used to the smell and taste. Some people actually enjoy the taste of ACV mixed with water because they say that it tastes like “sour apple juice mixed with kombucha.”
After the 20 days, I did not see an obvious physical change, however I did somewhat feel more energized and awake some days. During those 20 days, I followed my regular living and eating habits. In other words, I did not necessarily follow a diet or exercise.
As a result, I did not see any obvious physical changes, nor did I see a notable difference in my weight. However, if I were to eat healthier and exercise while drinking a shot of ACV everyday, I believe that I would more likely be able to see an obvious physical change.
I decided to do this challenge because I heard so many great things about ACV, but I was never able to start this lifestyle change myself. I thought that if I agreed to do this lifestyle change for 20 days, I could finally force myself to fall into more healthy habits going into 2019.
Despite the unpleasant taste and smell, I will try to continue incorporating ACV into my daily routine because I am convinced that with the right diet and exercise, there will be more of an obvious physical and mental change.
If you are looking to fall into more healthy habits to improve your physical and mental health, I would definitely recommend trying to incorporate apple cider vinegar into your daily diet. Even if you find the vinegar distasteful, I find that the benefits outweigh the unpleasant aspects of ACV.
